From 08. June until 08. September 2013, the NRW-Forum Düsseldorf will present the exhibition entitled Alaïa. Azzedine Alaϊa in the 21st century. This exhibition displays Alaïa fashion creations of the last ten years. Each room in the exhibition will focus on a different material that Azzedine Alaïa has consistently used over the past decade: velvet, fur, wool, leather, cotton, animal skins, chiffon and knitwear.
Azzedine Alaïa is one of the last major living couturiers. The exhibition focuses on Alaia’s work in the 21st Century. Azzedine Alaïa is one of the most important fashion designers of the last decades. The name Alaïa stands for glamour, sensuality, style, cut, self-confidence, comfort and, of course, sex appeal. His tight dresses embrace the bodies of the world’s most seductive and successful women.
A monograph has been published: Azzedine Alaïa in the 21st Century. Hardcover, 224p. in englischer Sprache.
