Declaration on accessibility

NRW-Forum Düsseldorf endeavours to make its website https://www.nrw-forum.de accessible in accordance with the national legislation implementing Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the accessibility of the websites and mobile applications of public sector bodies (Barrierefreie-Informationstechnik-Verordnung Nordrhein-Westfalen - BITV NRW).

This declaration on accessibility applies to the website www.nrw-forum.de.

1. Status of compatibility with the requirements

This website is partially compliant with BITV NRW and EN 301 549 V3.2.1, as there are some exceptions and partial incompatibilities. We are continuously working to improve the accessibility of our website and to fully fulfil all requirements.

2. Non-accessible content

The contents listed below are not barrier-free for the following reasons:

  • Images and graphics: Some older images and graphics may not have a sufficient text alternative (alt text) or are not always displayed with sufficient contrast. We are working on improving this for new content and gradually updating existing content.
Videos: Some of our older video content may not have subtitles, transcripts or audio descriptions. New video content will increasingly be provided with these features.
  • PDF documents: PDF documents may not be fully accessible (e.g. not tagged or not readable for screen readers). We endeavour to make new PDF documents accessible and to revise important older documents where necessary.
Contrast and readability: In a few areas, certain colour combinations may result in low contrast values that could impair readability for people with visual impairments.
  • On some older pages, terms may not be labelled as being in a different language, which may affect correct pronunciation when using screen readers.

3. Creation of this accessibility statement

This declaration was prepared on 28 May 2025.

The declaration was prepared on the basis of a self-assessment by NRW-Forum Düsseldorf in cooperation with our technical service provider. A comprehensive external audit is being planned.
