When it was first released in 1989, THE KILLER was only available on video in Germany; it wasn’t until 1997 that the film reached cinemas. Jeff is a professional hitman who is commissioned to take out a powerful triad boss. But what appears to be a routine job draws him into the midst of a dangerous conspiracy and a bitter power struggle between the potential successors to the slain boss. Before long, Jeff himself becomes the target of a rival hitman. As events come to a head, his paths repeatedly cross with those of Inspector Lee and Randy. Out of initial mistrust, an unusual friendship develops between the three men. As the threat grows ever greater, they are ultimately left with only one choice: together, they stand up to the triad and take on the powerful underworld organisation.
