Where can I buy an online ticket and what do I have to bear in mind?
You can buy your online ticket in our online shop. After your purchase you receive your ticket as a PDF file, which you may print out or present to our staff on your smartphone. If you have purchased several tickets, you receive an email with several separate PDF files attached.
Please check your spam folder in case you cannot locate the email with your tickets in your mailbox. If you have not received an email with your tickets attached, please send us an email to webshop@kunstpalast.de, stating your name and booking reference.
Do I have to print out the online ticket or can I present it on my smartphone?
You can print out your online ticket on any printer, or you may present it to our staff on your smartphone. If you wish to print out your online tickets, please print out each ticket separately to ensure a speedy admission.
At what time am I admitted, and is the duration of my visit limited?
The online ticket grants access on the day and at the time stated on your ticket. Once you have been admitted, the duration of your visit is not limited to a specific time.
Can I get a refund for my ticket or change the date or the entry time?
Please note that online tickets cannot be refunded or exchanged. It is not possible to change the date or entry time of online tickets or other timed tickets.
How will I receive my ticket?
Online tickets are sent by email only, as PDF file attachments which you can print out or present to our staff on your smartphone.
I have a problem with my booking. How can I reach the online shop?
Should there be a problem with your ticket order, such as missing PDF file attachments, please contact us by email to webshop@kunstpalast.de. We will assist you as quickly as possible.
Do my cats and budgies need an extra online ticket or can they enter the exhibition for free?
We are big animal fans and of course don't demand an extra ticket for our cute visitors! Feel free to bring them as digital avatars on your mobile phone!
How can I book guided tours, courses and workshops?
Participation in public guided tours, courses or workshops can be booked in our online shop. Do visits by groups or school classes need to be booked in advance? Please register via the Kunstpalast website, if you wish to visit our museum with a group, regardless of whether or not this is in combination with a guided tour.
How can I book a guided tour for a group?
Private guided tours are bookable via the Kunstpalast website.
How can I register a group that I wish to guide myself?
So-called external guided tours can be booked via the Kunstpalast website.
How do I get to the NRW-Forum?
Detailed directions are available on our website.
Is the museum accessible for wheelchairs and prams?
For visitors with limited mobility and visitors with prams, the museum is accessible via a lift at the rear entrance (via the parking spaces) of the NRW-Forum. Folding stools can be borrowed. Seating is available in the exhibition rooms.
Are there any cloakroom facilities?
In the NRW Forum, the cloakroom is located opposite the cash desk on the ground floor. It can be used free of charge. You can also use our lockers (you will need a €1 coin). Please leave jackets, backpacks, surfboards and bags (larger than A4) and other bulky items in the cloakroom or lockers.
Am I allowed to take photographs on the premises?
You are very welcome to take photographs in our exhibition rooms for a personal, non-commercial purpose. If you are not allowed to take photos of some of the works, you will find the relevant information on site. If you decide to post on Instagram, TikTok & Co., feel free to use our hashtag #nrwforum and tag our account @nrwforum!

Is there an all-gender toilet at the NRW-Forum?
Yes, there are toilets for people of all genders at the NRW Forum. Everyone is welcome here!
Is WiFi available?
Free WiFi is available by logging into „Hotspot Besucher*innen“.
I have lost something. What can I do?
For any items lost or left behind please contact the reception at the Kunstpalast, where all lost property is kept. Unclaimed items are passed on to the city’s lost property office at some point. Our staff is happy to give you directions to get there. Alternatively, you may contact us by email to info@kunstpalast.de or by phone on +49 211 566 42 100.
Can I bring a pet?
Only guide dogs and assistance dogs are permitted in the exhibition halls.
Are there any coronavirus safety measures still in place at the NRW-Forum?
It is no longer mandatory to wear a face mask at Düsseldorf arts institutions.
To protect our visitors, staff and vulnerable persons, we encourage visitors to cover their mouths and noses and to follow social distancing and hygiene recommendations.
Why do butterflies have free admission but unicorns need to pay 200€?
In our experience, butterflies don't need that much space and unicorns unfortunately often carry dirt into the exhibition rooms with their hooves, which requires extensive cleaning. In addition, everyone wants to pet a unicorn (only with the unicorn's consent, of course!), which leads to tailback in the rooms. Therefore, we allow ourselves a difference in the entrance fee. 🦄
How can I support the NRW-Forum?
You can support us by joining the Friends of the Kunstpalast and NRW-Forum.
Can I use the NRW-Forum as a venue for a non-commercial photo or video shootings?
This may be possible subject to permission from the NRW-Forum. Please enquire by email to info@kunstpalast.de.
Can I book the NRW-Forum as an event location?
You can book the NRW-Forum and our café, the Pong, as an event location. More information is available on our website. The best thing to do is to contact our amazing Jennyfer Lapuc via jennyfer.lapuc@kunstpalast.de
